A New Device for Easier De-epithelization in Mammoplasty

The de-epithelization technique is still the first step in all modern reduction mammoplasty. To employ this technique, it is frequently necessary to have one or two assistants encircle the base of the breast and apply pressure.

This manual approach has two drawbacks. First, even when manual pressure is applied, the breast is often still too flabby. Secondly, this procedure requires the full time attention of personnel whom are critical to other duties during surgery.Recent technology, developed by Dr.L.D.Dhami (renowned & highly experienced) in India, has addressed this situation. The MAMMOGRIP helps provide consistent pressure for de-epithelization, reducing operating fatigue for both the surgeon and assistant. This device, which has been used with great success in Breast reduction & any other breast surgeries in India., is now available throughout world through APCL MEDICO - India.

The diagram below illustrates the proper use of the MAMMOGRIP

The MAMMOGRIP is re-usable and can be sterilized with an autoclave or ethylene-oxide. The MAMMOGRIP is not packaged sterilized. The MAMMOGRIP can be placed in a steam autoclave at 140 degree Centigrade for 20 min at 2 bars.
